ne of the great things about the Internet is that our music choices are no longer limited to the radio stations that we can pick up with our receivers. Thanks to the Web, we can listen to radio stations from around the country and around the world, as well as stations that exist only online. ALOT Radio App is an add-on for Internet Explorer that provides easy access to a plethora of music. It comes with a lot of other stuff too, which may or may not be a good thing.

The extension appears as a toolbar in Internet Explorer, and there's much more than just a radio player. The toolbar also includes a search box and a variety of apps including social networking sites, weather, and entertainment. There are plenty of other apps that can be added to the toolbar as well, and deleting an app is as easy as right-clicking on it and selecting Delete from the menu. When we launched the radio app we were surprised to find that it had automatically detected our location and was displaying a list of streams from local stations. Some of these stations launched a small window containing a media player when we clicked on them, and some didn't, but either way, most of the stations we tried connected pretty quickly and began playing music. In addition to the local stations, ALOT Radio App also displays music and talk stations from all over, and these are helpfully arranged by genre. You can search stations, save favorites, and view a history of the stations you've listened to. There's no Help file, but everything about the extension was pretty easy to figure out. Overall, we think that ALOT Radio App is a good choice for Internet Explorer users who want to explore the variety of music that the Internet has to offer.
